Charter Inclusions & Expenses
Charter inclusions and additional expenses vary by yacht and contract. The base charter fee typically covers the hire of the yacht with its crew, but operating expenses such as fuel, provisioning, berthing and dockage, and similar costs are commonly funded separately through an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA), with applicable VAT and taxes additional where relevant.
Typically Included in Base Fee
- Yacht hire with full crew
- Crew wages and insurance
- Onboard accommodation
- 24/7 broker support
Commonly Funded via APA
- Fuel (cruising and generators)
- Food, beverages & provisioning
- Berthing, dockage & port fees
- Communications & special requests
The APA is an advance payment, typically a percentage of the base charter fee, held by the yacht to cover operating expenses during your charter. Unused funds are refunded at the end of the charter. VAT and applicable taxes are additional and vary by cruising destination. Your Nicholson broker will provide a detailed cost breakdown for your specific yacht and itinerary.
